So I went to Sutra Lounge last night with Parle because Alton's cousin is getting married and had an engagement party there. The restaurant turns into a club at 10. We got there at like 7:30 or so and stayed until 1:30 AM. It was a lot of fun and DUDE, I was way tipsy from a Jagerbomb, Tokyo Ice Tea, and LA Water. I tried holding onto Parle, but I kept pushing her because I was going off balance. Parle told me I couldn't drink anymore because she was afraid of me getting drunk and acting stupid or else they'd kick me out. We did see some girl that was passed out being carried out the door. Now she was wasted!
Went to Starbucks to visit Kenneth. I haven't seen him since December and I've been meaning to visit him at his new Starbucks for awhile, but never got a chance to. I decided that today would be the day. I gave him the biggest hug ever and he was like, "Uh, I'm not going into the military or anything!" His birthday is coming up, but he doesn't know what he wants to do yet. He was bitching about being 23 and looking like he's 30. Yeah, yeah, yeah... what-ever!
Regardless of how he lost today, I still love Tom Brady. He is so sweet, down to earth, and humble. He doesn't let any of his fame get to his head.
I mean, when that crazy Mexican reporter in the wedding dress proposed to him, he was so good-natured and classy about it, it made me cry. Here's the low down:
Inez: Mr. Brady, I'm in love with you. Will you marry me, please. Brady: Wow, I've never had a proposal. Inez: Marry me, marry me. Brady: What's your name first? Inez: Inez. Brady: Inez. A beautiful name, Inez. Inez: Marry me, I'm the real Ms. Brady. Brady: *chuckles* I've got a few Ms. Brady's in my life. Inez: Can I be one of them? Brady: You could be? Nah, I'm a one-woman man. But you're beautiful and anybody who had the opportunity to marry you would be a lucky man.
Like, OMG! How can you not love this guy? I was driving to work when I heard the audio clip and I was about to cry because it was so beautiful.
Inez also proposed to Eli Manning, but he just shot her down and moved onto the next question! Meanie!
So during the Super Bowl my sister asked me a very important question:
Diana: Hey, Cheryl. Who do you think is sexier: Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, or Tom Brady? Me: You know my answer. Diana: Tom Brady? Me: Yeah. Diana: Okay, who do you think is more attractive: Peyton Manning or Eli Manning? Me: Peyton Manning. Diana: Really? I think Eli. Me: Uhhhh, are you sure you're thinking of the right brother? Diana: Yeah. Me: Eli? Eli Manning? (Eli Manning comes onto the TV at that very second and I point to him on the TV) Him? That guy right there?! Diana: Yeah. Me: Uhhh, ok.
My dad laughs... I think he's laughing at how his youngest daughter has very bad taste in men.
to watch Duke Blue Devils kill the Carolina Tar Heels.
Oh, and talk about a classy team. Have you ever been to their official Duke basketball website? Their bio information about each player is way classy dude. They gave each player a fancy photo shoot around campus. Sure, it's a little cheesy, but I thought it was pretty impressive and funny. Their site seems to be down at the moment for some reason so I'll talk about it more later... I have a sneaking suspicion that the Heels have something to do with this.
Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and the Patriots lost the Super Bowl earlier tonight. :( You won't be seeing or hearing from in a while as I cry myself to sleep. I really, really want that red Patriots sweatshirt hoodie Coach Belichick was wearing. I think it's a lot cooler than that gray one he's used to wearing. I mean, I was like "Whoa! A red sweatshirt!" And plus, it was short sleeved or something. I love that weirdo because he's a genius. It just proves that you shouldn't judge a person by the way they're dressed because how they look on the outside does not properly reflect their intelligence or the type of person they are on the inside. Sure, he might look like a homeless guy most of the time, but Bill Belichick, like many homeless people in the world, are actually very intelligent.
Oh and another highlight of the night was seeing a former CAMS alumni! Chester Pitts, offensive lineman for the Houston Texans, was featured in an NFL Super Bowl commercial about his amazing and super story of how he got into football. He went to my high school, the California Academy of Mathematics and Science, a high school that barely has any sports teams... no football team at all. When I was there, all we had was tennis, soccer, water polo, track and field, and cross-country. At SDSU, he was a walk on and eventually went on to play for the NFL! I love the commercial and it makes me smile! :)
According to his Wikipedia entry: At SDSU, Pitts was an accomplished oboe player and worked bagging groceries atRalph's.Ephraim Salaamapproached him to tell him to play football which led him to walk on at SDSU, resulting in his NFL career. Salaam told this story in his NFL Superad commercial that appeared during the 2008 Super Bowl (XXXIV). The piece he played in the commercial is Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 2.
